Rotational schedule

In an attempt to keep working holidays fair throughout the three years, each resident is assigned a track at the start of their training. They will follow this track throughout and this will dictate which months they attend different assignments.  

With the exception of Inpatient Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, all Inpatient rotations occur at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. Inpatient Pediatrics and Pediatrics Emergency Medicine occur at Children's Hospital in Detroit. Outpatient rotations occur at a variety of clinical sites in the Rochester Area. 

 

The general rotational curriculum per PGY is as follows: 


PGY1

  • Inpatient FM (4 months)
  • Inpatient/Outpatient OB (1 month each)
  • Inpatient Pediatrics (1 month)
  • Integrated Family Medicine Clinic (1 month)
  • Surgery (1 month)
  • Radiology (0.5 months)
  • Newborn (1 month)
  • Electives

PGY2

  • Inpatient (2 months)
  • Integrated Family Medicine Clinic (1 months)
  • Dermatology (1 month)
  • Emergency Medicine (1 month)
  • Outpatient Pediatrics (1 month)
  • PMR/Sports Med (1 month)
  • ICU (1 month)
  • Electives

PGY3

  • Inpatient (2 months)
  • Outpatient Pediatrics (1 month)
  • Integrated Family Medicine Clinic (1 months)
  • Psychiatry (0.5 months)
  • Women's Health (1 month)
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine (1 month)
  • Geriatrics (1 month)
  • Cardiology (1 month)
  • Electives
