Accreditation

We are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and our program, faculty, students and graduates are prepared to make a difference in our community!  

In October, 2016, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) awarded the Wayne State University School of Medicine's Master of Public Health program a full seven-year accreditation extending to December 31, 2024. CEPH is the nationally-recognized accrediting body for both schools of public health and for public health programs. Accredited programs must meet the standards of education in public health disciplines, and that program graduates have the competencies and experiences to become successful public health professionals.

The Council concluded that the M.P.H. Program met or exceeded requirements in all 23 applicable criteria in four areas: the public health program; the instructional programs; the creation, application and advancement of knowledge; and faculty, staff and students.

Open Period of Public Comment on CEPH Accreditation through October 2024

The Program of Public Health at Wayne State University is undergoing a review by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for re-accreditation. Part of this process includes the provision of a third-party comment period, which allows anyone, including students, alumni, faculty, staff, community and practice partners, and members of the public, to share relevant information about the program directly with CEPH.
