Residency Program News

Our Family Medicine and Transitional Year programs are pleased to welcome Dr. Kathryn Cox.  Dr. Cox joins us and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital from the St. John Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Clair Shores, MI.  She received her Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Alabama School of Medicine. She is passionate about education and Women’s Health.  We are pleased to welcome her to our team.   The Program is also in the process of recruiting another physician faculty member.

The Rochester faculty, staff and residents gathered for a lovely going-away party for Dr. Pierre Morris. Dr. Morris joined the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences in 2005 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor in August, 2020.  He served many years as the residency programs director.  The team gifted Dr. Morris with a new lunch box since he has been using the same one as long as they have known him!  We are excited for him and wish him well in his new position at Oakland University’s Beaumont School of Medicine.

In other news, the Urban Track Program is seeking a new partner for its continuity clinic residents. Stay tuned for more information.   The Residency Programs have over 100 interviews scheduled for this fall to recruit excellent candidates to join the program in the next academic year.  We will look forward to sharing that news with you in 2022.
