MPH Program's Faculty and Staff Awarded a 2022 WSU Program Assessment Grant

Dr. Rachel Mahas, Ms. Elissa Firestone, and Dr. Juliann Binienda were awarded a 2022 WSU Program Assessment Grant by Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mark Lawrence Kornbluh.  The award is one of five presented by the Wayne State University’s Office of the Provost.

The project entitled Analysis of MPH Program Competencies - Preparation for CEPH Reaccreditation will further evaluate the MPH program’s curriculum per the Council on Education for Public Health 2021 guidelines.

Dr. Mahas (MPH program director) states:  Our MPH program will be up for reaccreditation in December 2024. The grant will assist in funding a Council on Education for Public Health consultant to review our current assessment practices as we prepare for a site visit. We will benefit from the accreditation expert’s feedback on the competency attainment assessment process and any tools that may be available to make the program’s assessment process more fluid.

The grant period is AY 2022-2023 and a public presentation on the project will be made at the end of April 2023.
