Medical student Sahar Elmenini has been working on a qualitative research project with April Idalski Carcone, PhD, since January 2021. On January 28, 2022, Sahar presented the findings from this research at the WSU Medical Student Research Symposium. Her presentation, “The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Emerging Adults with Type 1 Diabetes” earned her a second-place award in the Public Health and Community Engagement category.
