The Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences held their annual office holiday party this year with some different twists and surprises.  The virtual holiday party was held on Tuesday, December 8 during the lunch hour.  The event was titled ‘Home Sweet Home Office Party’.  Each year, the department provides donations to a community partner.  This year The department raised over $400 that went to the Detroit School of the Arts Theater Department which is located in midtown near the campus.  The high school students treated our faculty and staff to a lively 15 minute holiday skit and song that was taped, produced, and edited solely by the students working together from their respective homes.  Noteworthy was the song entitled, “12 Days of Covid.”

Faculty and staff also were festively dressed and played games with prizes. The Department wanted to maintain some tradition while remaining safe.  The young students also reminded us of the importance of taking some time to enjoy each other even if done virtually.
