2nd Annual Detroit Youth Health Expo 2024

Medical students from the Wayne State University School of Medicine organized a free event in the Student Center on campus, where local high school students could explore careers in healthcare and discover opportunities available at Wayne State University and within the healthcare field. After the keynote speech from President emeritus M. Roy Wilson, high school students were invited to participate in a convention, where they were able to engage and interact with various stations. With the hard work of Master of Public Health students Brandon Crittenden and Sarah Eringaard, Practicum Director Michael McLeod, and Practicum and Community Engagement Coordinator, Sarah Donaldson, the Wayne State University Master of Public Health Pipeline project hosted three engaging stations for Detroit-area students to increase awareness of health disparities and their significance and introduce and stimulate interest in public health careers to students of all ages.
