Dr. Chadwell is the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Career Development in the Medical Student Education department. In this role, she is entrusted to ensure the well-being and career development of undergraduate medical students. She serves as the primary liaison with the student leadership including Student Senate, leadership of student organizations, AAMC Organization of Student Representatives, etc. Dr. Chadwell is responsible for addressing and resolving all student issues and concerns. She directs the student counseling program and regularly evaluates the program so it continues to meet the needs of our students. Dr. Chadwell meets with individual students to provide personal and academic support with the goal of keeping them on track during the pursuit of their medical degree. Where student success is concerned, she develops and maintains processes to meet LCME standards, including but not limited to student mistreatment policy and process, health and wellness program, etc. Prior to her work in the Medical Student Education department Dr. Chadwell was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Public Health Sciences, serving as its Director of the Year III Family Medicine Clerkship, faculty advisor for the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG), and faculty advisor and medical director of the Robert R. Frank Student Run Free Clinic.
