WSU/APRH Family Medicine and Transitional Year Residency Programs Celebrate Graduation

The WSU/APRH Family Medicine & Transitional Year Residency Programs celebrated its graduation on June 14, 2022 at the MacRay Harbor in Harrison Township, Michigan.  Eleanor King, MD and Tess McCready, DO Program Directors of the two programs opened the afternoon welcoming graduates and guests followed by a greeting from WSU’s Department of Family Medicine & Public Health Sciences chair, Dr. Jinping Xu.

Congratulations to the following individuals who received recognition during the Presentation of Awards.

  • Teacher of the Year: Dr. Kathryn Cox and Dr. William Bowman
  • Claire Knighten-Ward Award (monetary award): Dr. Ashley Decaluwe
  • NEW Honorary Awards: In honor of role models and leaders we aspire to be!
    • Rochester Emergency Group Outstanding Intern: Dr. Hanna Hanna
    • Dr. William Bowman Award of Excellence: Dr. William Nham
    • Dr. Frederick Rosin Award of Excellence: Dr. David Kazanowski

Congratulations to our Family Medicine graduates: Dr. Dana Achmar, Dr. Abraham Baidoo, Dr. Ashley Decaluwe, Dr. Oneil Doha, Dr. Danny Garcia, Dr. David Kazanowski, Dr. Roshan Patel, and Dr. Alicia Steele.

And congratulations to the Transitional Year graduates: Rasha Abdulridha, MD, MPH; Mohamad Hamdi, MD, PhD; Monica Hessler-Waning, MD; Thomas Hester, MD; Reem Kashlan, MD, MPH; and Osama Tariq, MD.   We wish them all continued luck in the future endeavors.
