Thank You From Dr. Xu to the 6th Annual DFMPHS Research Day Attendees

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their participation and congratulate all our presenters at our research day on April 21, 2022.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Edward Bujold, shared his personal journey about being a clinician researcher and the reasons why you want to be one. This is a subject in which we should all be deeply interested because clinical research is important to improve the safety and quality of health care, and flourishes with physician leadership. Dr. Bujold has set a good example for all of us. I hope his story inspires us, particularly the medical students, residents, and clinical faculty to think seriously about research/QI and to be eager and willing research partners.

I am also impressed by the quality of research and QI projects presented by our students, residents, and faculty, which is a testament for all your hard work despite the continued challenges of the pandemic.  This was the 6th year our department has hosted this event and they have certainly gotten better and better each year.

My special thanks to the Research Day Planning Committee, particularly the Co-Chairs - Drs. Carcone and Mahas, as well as our administrative and technical support Ms. Amanda Compton.

Please remember to mark your calendar for next year’s event on April 20, 2023. Hope to see you there in person!

Jinping Xu
