Faculty Update and Residency Highlights

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ashley Wilk to our Family Medicine residency faculty this fall. Dr. Wilk joins us from Florida State University, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching. Board-certified in both Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, she has quickly become an essential contributor to our Osteopathic curriculum and an engaged presence in resident education.

This academic year, we launched a revised Osteopathic curriculum under the leadership of Dr. Heidi Hilton. The updated program features one-on-one teaching opportunities with patients and dedicated didactic sessions focused on Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). With a growing number of DO residents joining our program, this new curriculum supports our commitment to comprehensive and integrative care—and we look forward to continued expansion in the years ahead.

Our residents and faculty have also been hard at work on scholarly projects. This season, projects are being presented at several prestigious events, including the Michigan Family Medicine Research Day, AIAMC National Conference, Henry Ford Rochester’s Quality Improvement Day, and our very own DFMPHS Research Day. We are proud of the team’s dedication to advancing Family Medicine through research, collaboration, and innovation.
