Behavioral Sciences Faculty to Present at the American Diabetes Association 82nd Scientific Section

Deborah Ellis, PhD, Professor and Director of the Division of Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences has been selected to be featured in the official Press Program for the American Diabetes Association’s 82nd Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, June 3-7 2022. Her study, Effects of Racial Residential Segregation on Black Youth with Type 1 Diabetes was selected based on its overall excellence in furthering the research and treatment for people with diabetes, as well as its potential appeal to the medical and general news media.

In addition to her presentation at the conference, the study will be featured in either a news release or a highlight/summary document, which will then be shared under embargo with registered media in advance of her presentation. Registered media members will be attending the Scientific Sessions both virtually and on-site.  Press Program study authors will speak with reporters via email, phone interviews, or in-person if applicable in the days during and following SciSessions.

Congratulations to Dr. Ellis on the prestigious honor.
