Biography

Dr. Podolsky is a geneticist and biostatistician who very much enjoys collaborative research. He especially values being part of a research team that attempts to develop more personalized approaches to health care, including preventive medicine.

His current research focuses on two aspects of attempts to develop more personalized approaches to health care: the analysis of genome-wide DNA methylation data and the analysis of multivariate longitudinal data. The research focused on methylation data is developing methods to identify genomic regions that show differences in methylation. DNA methylation is potentially important for understanding how changes in the genome may lead to changes in disease risk and progression since methylation of DNA can be altered in response to changes in the environment. His research centers on the analysis of multivariate longitudinal data and has the goal of modeling disease development and/or progression.
